INAUGURATION OF THE FIFTH (5TH) ASSEMBLY OF AMANSIE CENTRAL DISTRICT ASSEMBLY AT NANA ADU DARKO COMMUNITY CENTRE, JACOBU
The Amansie Central District Assembly inaugurated the fifth(5th) Assembly on the Thursday, 23rd January, 2020 at Nana Adu Darko Community Centre – Jacobu.
The meeting commenced at exactly 11:00am with an opening prayer by Rev.
The District Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Charles Attah-Mensah thanked members present for making ample time for the meeting. He introduced himself as the MC for the day. He the informed the house of the purpose of the meeting as which is to officially inaugurate the newly elected Assembly Members of the fifth Assembly of Amansie central district.

For Science and Tech, Nana Osei Kwadwo Ababio – Chairman (Bekwai Omanhene), Supt. Abdulai Idddrisu – Dist. Police Commander
INTRODUCTION OF CHAIRMAN
The DCD introduced to the house Nana Osei Kwadwo Ababio as the chairman for the occasion.
Chairman’s Response
Nana Osei Kwadwo Ababio thanked the organizers of the programme for making him the Chairman of the inaugural meeting. He urged the entire guest to support him with prayers as he takes up this role.
DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE WELCOMES ADDRESS
The DCE welcomed everyone present and expressed how pleased and honoured it was for him to address the inaugural meeting of the fifth (5th) Assembly of Amansie Central District Assembly. He expressed his disappointment with the number of female participation in the election. He however charged the new Assembly members to speak on important issues that affect their members and make sure that the Assembly attend to their needs. The DCE also urged the Assembly members to contribute willingly towards the development of the Assembly and District as a whole.
ROLL CALL OF ASSEMBLY MEMBERS BOTH ELECTED AND APPOINTED
The DCD took the roll call of all Assembly members and government appointees present. All the forty two (42) members were present.
SWEARING-IN OF ASSEMBLY MEMBERS
Mrs Paulina Adwoa kwakyewaa, the District Magistrate led in the swearing-in of the Assembly members of the following;
- Official Oath
- Oath of Allegiance and
- Oath of Secrecy
CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE FROM MP
The Hon. MP expressed his joy to be part of the inaugural ceremony. He stated that he is honoured to be the longest serving servant of the district. He promised himself to ensure that all members of the Assembly get copies of the local government act to be used as a second Bible so as to understand the Local government policies and task. The Hon. MP also pleaded with the Hon. Dept. Minister to ensure the release of funds for the development of the Assembly.
THE PRESIDENT’S INAUGURAL MESSAGE PRESENTED BY HON DEPUTY MINISTER
Hon. Patricia Appiahgyei, the Dept. Minister who represented the President at the inaugural ceremony, before delivering the speech expressed her gratitude to be part of inauguration of MMDA’S at Amansie Central District Assembly for the second time. She then gave the President message by stating the necessity of the ceremony and charged the Assembly members elected and appointed to ensure that all government flagship programmes are well implemented for the betterment of all the members in the district. She also urged the Assembly members to be one as unity is the key towards delivery mandate. She ended by congratulating all the Assembly members.
CLOSING REMARKS BY NANA OSEI KWADWO (CHAIRMAN)
The Chairman once again thanked the house for making the meeting a peaceful and successful one. He encouraged the Assembly members to be hard working so as to bring development to the District. He also advice the Assembly members to promote unity and peace in the discharged of their duties. He tasked Assembly members to talk to their members to desist from selling their cocoa to the people of Obuasi to enable the District also benefit from the cocoa roads projects. He highlighted on the bad conditions of the road networks in the district and urged the Assembly to work towards improving it.
VOTE OF THANKS BY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR IIA
The Asst. Director IIA, Mrs. Janet Odoi Dwereboah thanked the Most High God for a successful meeting. She then thanked the Hon MP, Hon. DCE and the various officials present. She ended the vote of thanks by thanking all the members that made it to meeting.
