THE NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL ASSOCIATION CLEAN UP EXERCISE WAS HELD ON FRIDAY 13TH JUNE, 2025 AT AMANSIE CENTRAL DISTRICT.

On the 13th June, 2025 around 6:00am, National Service Personnel’s gathered at Odotobri Rural Bank which was the starting point of the clean – up exercise. The NASPA Executives where already there with the various cleaning equipment’s. The District Assembly, Nananom, Jacobu Senior High School, Environmental Health etc were our sponsors. Some of the offices listed sponsored us financially whiles others supported us with cleaning equipment’s like rakes, wheelbarrow, long brooms, cutlasses, dustbins, shovel and spade, pick axe etc.

The targeted areas where the clean-up exercise would take place was Jacobu market, lorry station and Jacobu high streets. Gutters distilled included high auto gutters leading to Nana Darko Conference Center, Immigration Office gutters and Moarioil filling station leading to District Assembly. The Executives along with some of the disciplinary committee members started by distributing nose masks and gloves to those who were present before sharing the other cleaning equipment’s. Around 6:30am majority of personnel’s were present and the clean – up exercise began, a prayer was recited by Salamatu Awudu then we took off with the exercise.

Some of the ladies started sweeping the market meanwhile the others swept the lorry station and its surrounding, some of the men went around with dustbins and wheel barrows to convey refuse for its disposal whiles others weeded the bushy areas.

About 70 personnel were present for the clean – up exercise and they actively participated which drew the attention of the community members, and some group of

Personnel’s were awarded. The immigration officers were pleased with the work done and gifted some group of personnel’s with a pack of drink, other individuals also gave out sachet of water and tokens.

Pictures were taken along the line, sachets of water were also made available at vantage points but unfortunately the clean – up exercise had to close because that day was also the submission of June’s monthly evaluation form. Around 11:00 am the exercise ended at the Apem-anka River near District Assembly and its surroundings, then all the personnel walked towards the District Assembly’s Conference Hall. Veronica bucket, soap and tissues were made available for hand washing before entering the Conference hall, the monthly evaluation continued after all the personnel were seated.

 

Sharing of refreshment (kenkey, bread and water) took place on the other side while evaluation was ongoing.

In conclusion the Clean – up exercise ended successfully and personnel’s who attended reached their destinations peacefully as well.
