CHARMAN’S WELCOME ADDRESS

The presiding member who is also the chair for the meeting stood on behalf of the DCE to give a warmly welcome to everyone for attending the meeting.

DCE’S ADDRESS

Hon. Kwame Asamoah Boateng said, the meeting for the unit committee and Area council have been planned for a very long time but anytime a date and time was scheduled, the pandemic (Covid 19) and its consequences has caused the meeting to be rescheduling. He entreated all members of the Area council to team up with the chiefs (Nananom) in their respective Area and come into a consensus before they bring their request to the Assembly. By so doing, this will avoid any clash of projects and clears misunderstanding between the Assembly and the chiefs. Afterwards, He thanked members for honouring their call always.

SWEARING IN OF UNIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The Judge led members of the Area council and the Unit Committees in the swearing in process. Members took an oath to be faithful, truthful and loyal to their motherland, and also contribute their quota in diverse ways to up lift the nation

INAUGURATION OF AREA COUNCILS BY HON. DCE

Hon. Kwame Asamoah Boateng inaugurated the Area council members and said for safety precautions against the outbreak of the disease, everyone would be given some boxes of sanitizers as well as nose masks to distribute to their communities.

BRIEF PRESENTATION ON RESPONSIBLITIES OF AREA COUNCILS

The DCD took members on the responsibilities of Area councils, and said base on records each Area should have members of 14 including the Assembly members of which the members should agree on one to be their chair. He said, the chairperson would be responsible for holding meetings and giving allowances for transportation of members whenever they meet. He said, the Assembly has already given each Area a Secretary for their meetings. Mr Charles Attah Mensah said, 50% from revenue collection would be donated in each Council’s account. This would be used to pay off, allowances and other charges. He said, each Area should group and select its chairperson, in addition with their members names and contacts..
