LAUNCHING OF THE NKOKƆ NKETE NKETE PROGRAMME
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama officially launched the Nkokɔ Nkete Nkete Programme on 12th November 2025 at Jubilee Park.
Under the initiative, each district was expected to receive approximately 10,000 birds for distribution to beneficiaries. Our district received 9,712 birds last year, which were subsequently nurtured and raised to six weeks old by BM Farms.
Yesterday, the Nkokɔ Nkete Nkete Programme was officially launched at the forecourt of the District Assembly, where the birds were distributed to beneficiaries.
The District Chief Executive encouraged beneficiaries to fully embrace the initiative, emphasizing that collective commitment can help build a strong poultry industry capable of uplifting districts, boosting regional prosperity, transforming the local economy, enhancing food security, and creating employment opportunities within the community.
Beneficiaries were also advised to properly care for the chicks by providing suitable housing, ensuring adequate feeding, and seeking veterinary services when necessary, in order to achieve the overall objectives of the programme.
