RE-LAUNCH OF SANITATION DAY AT AMANSIE CENTRAL DISTRICT

On Friday, the 3rd October 2025, the Amansie Central re-launched the sanitation day, which was led by the District Chief Executive, Honorable Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang. The main objective for the launch was to promote a collaborative and responsible approach towards environmental sanitation in the District. Before the Launch, a Cleanup exercise was organized by the Assembly in collaboration with the Police Service, Immigration Service, National Security Service, Ambulance Service, Zoomlion Ghana Ltd, Unit Committee members, the Hon. Presiding Member (PM), Community Members and all the Staff of the Assembly. The cleanup Exercise was concerning the entire community but limited to the Business center of Amansie Central District. Everyone was assigned to a particular area for the cleanup exercise.

The launch took place at Jacobu Car Park Station, all the key stakeholders, including District Coordinating Director Mr. Emmanuel Addae, the Chief of Jacobu (Nana Adu Darko III), and Nananom, the Christian religious leaders, Muslim Communities, schools in the District, and the community members. The program started 6:30 am and ended at 12:00 noon.

As part of the launch on 3rd October 2025, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, presented tools including; Rakes, Shovels, Wheel borrows, brooms, graves, Nose marks and many more to the community for monthly cleanup exercise which the District will use to clear weeds, and choked gutters in the district. In his statement during the launch, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Emmanuel Obeng, emphasized the importance of environmental sanitation in the Public and National Development. He also added that a cleanup exercise will be observed on the 1st Friday of every Month, aiming to restore discipline and pride in the public spaces, empower and mobilize Local Government Structures and foster citizen participation and accountability.

Furthermore, he stated that the Ministry of Local Government Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs is part of the broader “Cleanup Ghana” Agenda aimed at tackling unsanitary conditions, reducing disease outbreaks, and improving the quality of life of citizens.

The chairman of the program was the Chief of Jacobu (Nana Adu Darko III) of the traditional council. He thanked the Amansie Central District Assembly and argued all citizens of Jacobu to participate in the monthly cleanup exercise, emphasizing that environmental sanitation is a shared responsibility that requires consistent and collective action from individual household communities and institutions.

The event successfully reinforced unity among all.
