A health outreach team conducted community sessions on HIV and AIDS in Aboagyekrom, Abuntunsu, Nankawora, Fenaso Fawoman, Mile 9, and Mile 14 on September 16, 23, and 30, 2025.
The team provided health talks in each community, explaining transmission methods, prevention strategies, and the importance of early testing. They emphasized consistent condom use, regular screening, and addressed residents’ questions.
Sensitization formed a major part of the programme. Volunteers engaged households and small groups. They shared clear information on stigma, treatment access and support options.
Free condoms were distributed throughout the outreach. The team used the distribution points to speak with young adults and parents which encouraged open discussions about protection and personal responsibility.
Testing and counseling units were set up at central locations in all six communities. Residents received private testing services. Counselors guided people through results and offered follow up support where needed.
Community participation remained high across the three dates. Local leaders supported the effort and helped mobilize residents. The outreach team noted steady interest in testing and requested continued follow up visits.
