The Women’s Ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in the Jacobu District organized a comprehensive HIV/AIDS awareness program and “Know Your Status” campaign at the Maranatha SDA Church on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The health initiative gathered women, youth, and community members for a day dedicated to health education, voluntary screening, and stigma reduction. The outreach sought to equip congregants and residents with accurate facts about HIV/AIDS transmission, early detection, and long-term wellness. Organizers highlighted the crucial role women play as healthcare advocates within their families and wider communities. During the interactive session, health professionals led discussions on prevention strategies, mother-to-child transmission, and the vital importance of regular testing.

A central highlight of the event was the voluntary “Know Your Status” screening drive, where participants were offered free, confidential HIV counseling and testing in a supportive, faith-based environment. Facilitators emphasized that knowing one’s HIV status empowers individuals to seek early medical care and live healthy, fulfilling lives.
