THE AMANSIE CENTRAL DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HELD THEIR INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION ON MARCH 6, 2025 AT JACOBU EXPERIMENTAL SCHOOL PARK.
Ghana celebrated its 68th Independence Day on 6th March, 2025. The occasion was marked with grand ceremonies, durbar and other activities across Ghana in the various MMDAs.
Amansie Central District Assembly held a parade of school children and other citizenry of the district to commemorate the day. The parade was held at the
Jacobu Experimental School Park under the theme “Reflect, Review and Reset”.
The day was filled with patriotic displays, cultural performances and reflection on Ghana’s progress since gaining independence in 1957.
EVENT DETAILS
The people of Amansie Central District celebrated Ghana’s 68th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, commitment and patriotism. The event was attended by; the District Co-ordinating Director, the District Police Commander, the District Director of Education, Nananom, the Presiding Member, the Hon. Member of Parliament,
Hon. Assembly Members, Former District Chief Executives, Chairman of the Christian Council of Churches, the District Chief Imam, Heads of Department, Party Members, Health Personnels, Heads and Teachers of Participating Schools, Police Officers, Immigration Officer, Civil Society Groups, the Media, Invited Guests, and Students.
The celebration began with a durbar of chiefs, where traditional leaders paid homage to the nation and highlighted the importance of independence. A parade was held, featuring selected schools. The schools which paraded for the event were thirteen (13) which consisted of five Basic Schools, five Junior High Schools, and three Senior High Schools in the district.
The basic schools included; Jacobu Methodist Primary, Jacobu Experimental D/A Primary, Jacobu S.D.A Primary, Jacobu R/C Primary, and Islamic.
The Junior High Schools were; Jacobu R/C, Jacobu Methodist, Jacobu S.D.A,
Jacobu Experimental D/A, and Abrafi Mansa.
Jacobu Senior High Technical, Afoako ICCES, and Twepease Senior High were the second cycle schools who paraded.
The ceremony was graced with musical performances by S.D.A youth brass band and Jacobu Senior High and Tweapease Senior High Schools Cadet.
Speeches were delivered by district officials and traditional leaders, highlighting Ghana’s history, achievements, challenges and emphasising the need for change and building a better Ghana in unison.
Patriotic songs were played showing national identity. Community members engaged in health screening while dignitaries and students were served with water and snacks before and after the parade to keep them dehydrated throughout the programme.

In conclusion, government officials, traditional leaders, students and the good people of Amansie Central District came together to beautifully commemorate this significant milestone in Ghana’s history. The event which promoted community engagement, cultural promotion, and national pride was a desirable success.
