TENDER OPENING

The District Assembly on Thursday, 20th November 2025, held a successful public tender opening exercise for a new batch of critical infrastructure projects aimed at improving healthcare, education, water supply, and emergency response across several communities.

The event, held at the Assembly Hall, brought together representatives of bidding construction firms, officials from the District Works Department and Procurement Unit officers. The tender opening formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to transparency and competitiveness in public procurement.

Projects Opened for Tender

Four major community development projects were opened for competitive bidding:

  1. Completion of CHPS Compound with Nurses’ Quarters at Donkoase
This project seeks to enhance access to primary healthcare services in the Donkoase community by completing an important health facility alongside residential accommodation for health personnel. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly reduce travel time for residents seeking basic health services.

  2. Construction of a 1No. 2-Unit Kindergarten Block with Ancillary Facilities at Domeabra
The proposed kindergarten block will boost early childhood education in Domeabra, providing child-friendly classrooms, sanitary facilities, and a conducive learning environment for learners in the community.

  3. Drilling and Mechanization of 4No. Boreholes at Homase, Adoowa, Hia, and Aboagyekrom
These borehole projects aim to deliver reliable potable water to the four beneficiary communities, many of which have long struggled with water scarcity, especially during dry seasons. Mechanized systems will ensure consistent flow and improved water quality.

  4. Drilling and Mechanization of 1No. Borehole with Fire Hydrant at Jacobu
The borehole and fire hydrant project at Jacobu is expected to support both community water supply and emergency fire-fighting operations. The installation of the hydrant will enhance safety preparedness and strengthen the district’s emergency response capabilities.

Transparency and Due Process

During the session, all bids submitted before the deadline were formally opened, recorded, and verified in the presence of stakeholders. Procurement officials reiterated that evaluation would be guided strictly by the Public Procurement Act and its accompanying regulations to ensure fairness and value for money.

Tender evaluation is expected to begin immediately, with winning contractors to be announced following the completion of all required assessments.
